The question (continued)

Such relationships can damage one deeply (he says he loves me, but he never leaves his wife). The Amy Fisher and Joey Buttafuoco Story, Tiger Woods and our former President, President William Clinton are examples of what these types of relationships can lead to, tragic outcomes. Nothing good results from this, too many people are being hurt, including you. Why am I doing this?

The original nature of man was spiritual; he was perfect, holy and sinless. Satan, in the form of a serpent tempted Eve to take of the forbidden fruit, disobedience (Genesis 3:1-5) and man died a spiritual death. Physically, man's body became mortal, death-doomed; emotionally, man experienced feelings of guilt, shame and fear. This effected the human race subjecting every human to the penalty of sin and death. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9, Luke 13:3). Christ began His ministry with a call to repentance to every individual (Matthew 4:17).

What is repentance?  Repentance is to change one's mind (the seat of moral reflection), it means to turn away from wickedness, it means turning from sin to God by the exercise of faith. Let us consider our ways and repent, for godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of.

In the book of Hosea, we find the prophet Hosea ministering to the children of Israel; outwardly, they were enjoying a time of prosperity and growth; but inwardly, moral corruption and spiritual adultery permeated the people. Hosea's message to the people was God abhors  the sins of his people (all souls belong to God, but the soul that sinneth shall die (Ezekiel 18:4). Judgment is certain, but God's love stands firms.
