The Question
The question "why am I doing this" was asked. Where are we putting the blame? On the economy? On the fact that jobs are scarce? On our own selfish desires? Are we blaming him? (He came on to me). Are we telling ourselves that we have to make ends meet? The blame lies within us. We must realize that we make the decisions; we choose the route that we are going to take. What happened to present your body a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God (Romans 12:1)?
First Thessalonians 4: 4 tells us "that everyone should know how to possess his vessel (body) in sanctification and honor". Yes, it may be hard to let go of the things we are accustom to, but God wants us to be free of all immoral sin and unrighteousness and whom God set free is free in deed (John 8:36).
Most of the people in the world today are professing to be Christians and to know God; however, the life styles that they lead would say otherwise. They continue to lie to one another, they continue on in fornication, they continue on in malice, they continue to be children of disobedience, they refuse to mortify their flesh, they continue on in sin (missing the mark), they continue to walk in darkness neglecting the fact that God has called them into His marvelous light. God tells us in (IITimothy2:19) "that if we name the name of Christ that we should depart from iniquity". Now is the time to let these things (fornication/adultery/and shacking) go and look to God; yes the economy is bad and jobs are scarce, and our own desires; most of the time they are not what God desires for you.
